Politics
I switched from being a Republican to a Democrat in 2002 due to disagreements with how the
election was handled. For me, party affiliation is about choosing the best party to fit your
policy desires. During the primaries, I choose the best candidate I feel can hold true to those
policies.
Ultimately, I vote for the policy now, not the party.
Religion
While I respect the importance of religion for many, I consider myself a man of science. My
faith waned, especially after losing my mother to lung cancer at age 64. Imagine working your
entire life in the education system to die one year before retirement. In her honor, I built and
maintained a website for her church, until it shuttered its doors.
I also align myself with the ancient alien theory that surmises that extraterrestrials visited
our planet and that the people of the time witnessing those visits believed them to be gods. I
am a regular watcher of the Ancient Aliens show on the History Channel. I made a trip to Peru
and Bolivia to visit some of the most amazing ancient alien sites, with my favorite being Puma
Punku.

General Beliefs
I believe in the freedoms of choice, religion, speech, and the right to bear arms. My values
include being outgoing, intelligent, passionate, and open-minded. I enjoy discussing
controversial topics and believe in respecting others' decisions and viewpoints. Despite
accusations of bigotry, I hold that all people are created equal, a belief reinforced by my
experiences in the Boy Scouts where I spent my entire youth with lifelong friends of different
backgrounds and religions.
